Tupu Stories from and about Pacific cultures Tupu are a series of books, from Learning Media, which tell both traditional and contemporary Pacific stories. Each book in the series is available in:  Cook Islands Maori  Niuean  Samoan  Tokelauan  Tongan The Tupu series features the work of Pacific writers such as Emma Kruse Va'ai, Lino Nelisi, Kaliopeta Hu'akau, Sarona Aiono-Iosefa, Epi Swan, Taria Kingstone and Johnny Fribie. The texts are supported with full-colour illustrations by Pacific illustrators such as Vaitoa Baker and Gus Sinaumea Hunter. Teachers can use the Tupu series to:  to motivate students to read in Pacific languages  to build reading confidence  provide material that canvases a broad range of curriculum areas in Pacific languages  introduce spoken English as a second language using audiotapes. Each book in the Tupu series includes Teachers Notes in English. They provide an English translation and background notes on the material.
